I only saw Tupelo once in the famous Cicero's basement bar and by then they were so popular you barely "saw" them in that crowded basement.  I found this on the UT fansite Factory Belt today and considering the UT mythology found it funny they opened for TSB:

It featured a picture of the (I think) singer Dean wearing a belt made out of Schaefer beer cans. Though I had no idea about their music, a Schaefer's belt and an evening at Cicero's Basement Bar in St. Louis was enough to get me out that night.
